Medcorp Limited was founded upon the principles of overall patient satisfaction and exceptional patient care. Established in 1993, when a group of doctors came together to set up the St. Clair Medical Centre; a private health institution. Medcorp Limited presented unmatched standards of innovation in the region when a joint venture was entered with Caribbean Heart Care Limited(CHC) in 1993 and Caribbean Heart Care-Medcorp Ltd (CHCm) was  established.  In the past, many patients requiring heart surgery or other complex cardiology procedures had to travel abroad to get these procedures done. This is no longer the case. CHCm now performs three to four hundred heart surgeries annually. Despite doing increasingly complex surgeries, including paediatric heart surgery, the CHCm maintains an impressive record and is among the highest-rated cardiovascular treatment centres worldwide.The facility includes experienced specialists, supported by qualified technicians and equipped with first-rate medical equipment.

Medcorp Limited made another executive move in March 2000 with the addition of the GoodHealth Medical Centre (GHMC) that added same-day surgery clinics with two operating theatres, an Executive Medical Assessment Service and private consultancy offices to the services already provided.

Heralding yet another milestone, Medcorp Limited later pioneered the first private oncology centre, The Brian Lara Cancer Treatment Centre of Trinidad and Tobago named after the world record holding cricketer from Trinidad and Tobago.
